Hostelling International is one of the largest accommodation providers in the world, and is the only global network of Youth Hostel Associations. Located in some of the world’s most inspiring locations, the HI network offers almost 4,000 unique hostels in around 81 countries worldwide.

As a global non-profit organisation, HI promotes a greater understanding of people, places and culture, empowering its community of 4 million young people to explore the world for less. In addition, the Hostelling International network organises thousands of projects each year, to support local communities and protect the biodiversity of the environment.

In 2017, Hostelling International supported the UN year of Sustainable Tourism for Development, where 17 Sustainable Development goals (SDGs) were implemented to protect people and the planet. HI’s global projects and campaigns work to make these goals a reality by addressing the global agenda on Sustainable Tourism – for example, by pledging to minimise single use plastic and reduce food waste in its hostels.
